Going down Madrid’s Gran Vía around eight o’clock in the evening implies, as a rule, having to go through the groups of people who, every day, fill up the theater tickets. In particular, Lope de Vega, host of the musical The Lion Kingwhich has already been attended by more than five million people since it landed in the capital in October 2011. In its nearly 12 years of existence and more than 3,500 performances, its success has consolidated it as a tourist attraction in the city: between 75% and 80% of its audience comes from outside the city.
