The members of the commission unanimously approved this decision.
“Political parties participating in the Seimas elections can combine their lists and submit a joint list of candidates. The list of candidates is equated to a joint list if it contains two or more candidates belonging to another political organization or other political organizations,” CEC spokeswoman Indrė Ramanavičienė said in her reply to Elta.
“In that case, according to the Election Code, this joint list of candidates can receive mandates if at least 7 percent of the voters who participated in the election voted for it,” she added.
At the end of July, the LVŽS council approved the final lists of candidates for the Seimas.
As previously announced, in mid-June, R. Karbauskis said that he offered Ignais Vēgela, who was seeking the post of president, to jointly run for the Seimas. However, after several weeks of talks, the peasants decided that the list of their political power in the Seimas elections will be led by a member of the party, MEP Aurelijs Veryga. At that time, I. Vēgėlė was recorded as the last – number 141.
Seimas elections will be held on October 13.
