Regarding admission of new members to LKF members and removal from LKF members

The following LKF members were removed from LKF members at the meeting:

Lithuanian Basketball League clubs – VšĮ “SSK”, VšĮ “Gargždų sportas”;

Regional basketball league clubs – sports club Šilalės “Lūšis”, association “Ignalinas basketball”, VšĮ “Utenė”, sports club “BC Pašvitinys”, association “Hybridini sporto federationa”;

Three members had submitted requests to withdraw from LKF membership:

11 members were expelled during the entire LKF SC meeting. Not a single new member was accepted, the decision on the applications received so far for admission to the LKF members was postponed to the next meeting of the LKF Central Committee after the report-election conference.

Currently, the approved list of members with the right to vote at the LKF general conference is 150 members.

LKF activity figures and the development direction of Lithuanian basketball

LKF general secretary Mindaugas Balčiūnas, who is applying to become LKF president, also presented the results of the organization’s activities and planned priorities for the development and strengthening of Lithuanian basketball at the press conference.

It is planned that the detailed presentation of the 2024-2028 Lithuanian basketball development strategy document to LKF members and the basketball community will take place on September 4.
