The video of their live session inside the “Theodoros Papagiannis” Museum in Elliniko Ioannina, which took place in April, is presented by Elephant.

Elephant exists since 2018. They were created one of many afternoons in a studio in Ioannina, somewhere between discussions about music, creation and ways to exist in harmony with reality. Since then they have kept these conversations alive, enriching them with the musical background provided by this friction, clearly influenced by post-punk and post-rock culture. Along with appearances at music festivals and alternative venues they created the full-length album “A Better Me”, released in the summer of 2022. Alongside the production of their next EP, live performances are a permanent priority as they perceive this interaction as the most important dynamic process of self-determination.
Elephant explains more about the idea of the live session, the choice of venue and the project “Minds Under Pressure”: “Last winter, the three of us started to set up a project, which we called “Minds Under Pressure”. We want through this, to do things (mainly based in Ioannina), which will combine different types of alternative art as a group consisting of musicians, photographers, actors and generally “restless minds” of the city. Setting up the mup brought many ideas to the fore and one of them was (for Elephant) a live session in an art space.
The idea behind a live session in a museum has been floating around in our minds for a long time. We are impressed by spaces with such gravity, that every corner has been created after a stimulus and has a story to tell. Music sounds differently in a space dominated by visual art.
We started thinking in which museum we could do something like this and our first thought was that of Mr. Papagiannis. The museum is unique as is the entire environment around it, as it extends throughout the village. We contacted him, described our idea, and he gave us permission to do it. We thank him very much for this as well as Ms. Niki Giannatsis, the manager of the museum, for the perfect cooperation.
We wanted the video (at the time of the live) to be one-shot. No editing at all. Only one camera moving around the room while we play, playing with us. Whatever comes out should be live. And the music and the video. We spoke with Dimitris, who took over the video with the same enthusiasm as us. It took us a few tries, we experimented a bit and spent two wonderful days (until late at night) inside the museum. We decided to write three tracks. “Story of an Elephant”, “Give me Time” and one of our upcoming EP which we will start production in the fall of 2023″.
The video is by Dimitris Mantalia, the sound engineering, recording and mastering was done by Panagiotis Kalogiros, the sound coverage and lighting was undertaken by Thomas Nastos (Vision of Sound), while the mix was by Nikos Logiotatidis.
