The living wage in Russia per capita in 2022 will be 11,950 rubles, follows from a government decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

In 2021, the subsistence minimum per capita is 11,653 rubles. Thus, the indicator will grow by 2.5% or 297 rubles.

For the working-age population, the subsistence minimum in 2022 will be 13,026 rubles, which is 324 rubles. or 2.6% more than in 2021. For pensioners, the subsistence minimum for the next year is set at 10,277 rubles. (+255 rubles or 2.5% more by 2021), for children – 11,592 rubles. (+ RUB289 or 2.6% more by 2021).

According to the Central Bank’s medium-term forecast, inflation in Russia by the end of 2021 may amount to 4.7-5.2%. On June 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that by the end of this year inflation will be 5%.

In May, annual inflation in Russia for the first time since October 2016 exceeded 6% and amounted to 6.02%. At the same time, the target inflation set by the Bank of Russia is 4%. It exceeded this threshold in November last year, and at the end of 2020 amounted to 4.9%.

On January 1 of this year, a law on a new methodology for calculating the minimum wage (minimum wage) and the subsistence level came into force in Russia, which implies their determination based not on the consumer basket, but on the median income (half of workers receive more than this value, half – less ).

The law also establishes the minimum wage in the amount “not lower than the subsistence minimum of the working-age population in the whole of the Russian Federation for the next year and not lower than the minimum wage established in the current year.”
