Twenty years ago, the first film of the trilogy based on the giants of JRR Tolkien was released in cinemas all over the world. Initially conceived on two films, Peter Jackson’s project was then developed following the tripartite structure of the books, creating one of the most popular sagas of modern cinema. The gestation of this ambitious transposition was complex and at times complicated, as evidenced by the many anecdotes from behind the scenes, right from the debut with “La Compagnia dell’Anello”.
