The main award of the European Film Academy went to the film “Where are you going, Aida?”

Film “Where are you going, Aida?” recognized as the best European film by the European Film Academy. It is dedicated to the events in Srebrenica during the Bosnian War, when 8 thousand people were killed.

European Film Academy Award winners:

• Best European Film – “Where Are You Going, Aida?”;
• Best European Comedy – Ninja Child;
• “European discovery” – “Promising Girl”;
• best director – Yasmila Zhbanich (“Where are you going, Aida?”);
• Best Actress – Jasna Djuricic (“Where are you going, Aida?”);
• Best Actor – Anthony Hopkins (“Father”).

Film “Where are you going, Aida?” was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. However, the Academy Award was given to the film “One More” – this picture received the main award of the European Film Academy in 2020.
