Foreign Affairs Advisor Speaks on Interim Government’s Goals
The main objective of the interim government is to create a fair election environment. To achieve this, stability must first be restored in the country. During a recent meeting with the media, foreign affairs advisor Tauhid Hossain stated this.
The interim government aims to meet the expectations of all parties involved. This will require certain reforms. The government will work to implement these reforms, starting with establishing stability and then presenting a well-rounded selection of candidates.
The Foreign Adviser emphasized the importance of maintaining good relations with all countries, including India, China, and the United States. He also stated that a large number of manpower is working abroad, and that the government will strive to provide them with adequate support.
The advisor addressed concerns regarding the treatment of minorities, acknowledging that some have been subjected to torture in certain missions. However, he maintained that such incidents were politically motivated, not state-sanctioned. He also promised to hold a meeting with representatives of minority communities on Monday to address their concerns.
When asked about the timeframe for holding fair elections, the adviser emphasized the need to restore stability in the country before determining an election date. He also declined to comment on any potential message to India regarding the return of Sheikh Hasina.
The government will provide financial assistance to families of deceased individuals and offer free medical care to the injured. Further instructions regarding these measures will be issued by the Ministry of Health.
