According to a Sinhala media report, MP Namal Rajapaksa has told President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa that his father Mahinda Rajapaksa has no plans to step down as Prime Minister.
Namal Rajapaksa stated this during a discussion with the Head of State.
It is reported that Namal Rajapaksa has stated that if Mahinda Rajapaksa is removed from the post of Prime Minister, he will join the opposition with the group of parliamentarians of the People’s Alliance.
According to a national newspaper, Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa has stated that 69 lakh people voted for Mahinda Rajapaksa in the last presidential election.
