The Granada Metro operates on sight, with continuous monitoring of speed through the automatic braking protection system, which guarantees supervision and control of the distance between trains. In addition, on the surface, it additionally has a punctual automatic braking system to adapt the march of the trains to the existing speed restrictions.

Along with these security systems, signaling includes, among its subsystems, those corresponding to interlocking, command and supervision, track circuit and axis counters, points, signals and traffic lights, beacons, and traffic regulators. This new maintenance contract will focus on the maintenance of all systems and subsystems, and the labor, machinery, tools and supplies necessary for preventive, corrective and predictive tasks, among others.

The Granada Metro, which runs through Albolote, Maracena, Granada and Armilla, has a 15.9 kilometer route, with 83 percent of its route on the surface platform and the remaining 17 percent underground. Twenty-six stops and stations are located along its route. Its fleet of trains is made up of fifteen units, to which another eight will be added currently in the manufacturing phase with a budget of 40 million euros
