Abnormal fault: Israel Railways announced this evening (Saturday) that following a national signaling fault which resulted in the central signaling computer intermittently crashing, and which does not allow train traffic to operate safely until it is repaired, it was decided that train traffic will not be operated, and this is due to the need to verify the stability of the signaling system for optimal operation tomorrow morning.
It was also stated on behalf of the railway that “during the night, comprehensive tests will be carried out of all the signaling components, both computerized and placed on the tracks. Free shuttles are operated at most stations and we recommend the use of alternative public transportation.”
Israel Railways still do not know the cause of the severe and ongoing malfunction in the signaling system, which caused the shutdown.
