The Court of Barcelona has sentenced a man tried for the crime of murder to 11 years in prison. The events occurred in March 2021 in Olesa de Montserrat when the accused, after an argument, stabbed a friend with a knife who died minutes later from the injuries caused.
The ruling condemns him as the perpetrator responsible for a previously defined crime of malicious murder, with the concurrence of mitigating circumstances of drunkenness and drug addiction and partial reparation of the damage. In terms of civil liability, he must compensate the injured parties, relatives of the victim, with 100,000 euros – for each of his two children – and 58,000 euros for the mother of the deceased.
