Finding a disturbing-looking insect in the house is certainly not a pleasant experience, but if the unwanted presence occurs at night, it can really shock you: what if it could fly? In that case, every movement must be done carefully, to prevent the animal from coming inexorably towards us to attack us. He may be more scared than we are and acting defensively, but in any case it is always good to avoid close contact!
An Englishman opened his eyes at night and saw a huge “demon wasp” in his room, as he called it after the traumatic awakening that he struggles to recover from.
The man shared the experience on the web and talked about the fear he felt when he saw the insect, at 5:30 a.m., at least two inches long.
He photographed the intruder, posted it on Reddit and asked what kind of wasp it was, fearing he wanted to “eliminate” him.
Hearing the strange noise that woke him from his sleep, he got up and carefully moved the curtain of his room. At that moment, however, the wasp flew away, which gave him an uncontrollable fear.
Even though the bug was gone, his heart was still beating hard, so much so that he felt the need to have “a cup of tea.”
Most users noted that it could be a hornet, but this did not take away the man’s fear.
Someone wrote: “Yes, it is a hornet. They are very docile, they rarely sting people. If you think it is huge, wait until you see how big the queens are. At the beginning of the month there flew one in my yard looking for a place to sit.”
Another commented: “Yes, they are very scary, but usually they just want to fly over you for a while and then leave. However, they have a bad habit of jumping on us for fun.”
“A few years ago I had a wasp nest near the wall of my bedroom. Every now and then they all use their wings to cool the nest and resemble a purring cat. I was very shocked when I first heard it, in the middle of the night,” wrote a third user.
We’re pretty sure the post’s author will have trouble sleeping peacefully, at least for a while!
