Today, the Zlatograd District Court took a permanent measure of “detention in custody” against Erai H., the chairman of the court, judge Dinko Hadjiev, told BTA.
The crime was committed on the night of Sunday in front of the Crystal Hotel in Zlatograd. After a report was filed about two victims – a man and a young woman who were stabbed with a knife, the son of the owner of the restaurant next to the hotel was detained.
During the trial, 39-year-old Erai H. gave explanations, stating that he was defending himself from the people who attacked him. He waved his hands in which he held many keys, and if he hurt anyone, it was done with them.
The reason for the scandal was the decoration of the anniversary celebration in the restaurant, which was thrown away by the staff. The accused, who was drunk, brandished the knife indiscriminately without having an argument with the victims.
The knife was not found, and the court accepted in the reasons that the witness statements established that the accused was seen leaving the establishment with the knife. He held it in his hand, only the blade was visible. Screams were heard from a woman who was holding her ear, and a man was holding his stomach, from where profuse bleeding began. Witnesses saw Erai H. holding a knife with a bloody blade in his hand.
The victims received stab wounds, without any danger to their lives.
Erai H. has been accused of committing obscene acts, grossly violating public order and expressing clear disrespect for society, expressed in insults and indecent behavior, as well as inflicting stab wounds on two people – a man and a woman, with which caused bodily harm to the victims.
The decision of the court to impose the permanent measure “detention in custody” can be appealed to the District Court in Smolyan.
