Yesterday, Sunday, the management committee of the “Zalaf Libya” company held a meeting in which it discussed a number of developments related to the South Refinery project, which is progressing rapidly and according to previously prepared timetables.
The topics of the meeting, which was attended by a number of department directors, included the steps completed and the necessary arrangements for subsequent steps to save time.
The company said in a statement: This series of meetings comes in the context of the management committee’s follow-up of the South Refinery project, which is considered an important qualitative leap and one of the strategic projects launched by the National Oil Corporation in support of the national economy and the development of the southern regions, according to the company’s statement.
The South Refinery to be implemented in the city of Ubari is located next to the steam power station, approximately 6 kilometers east of the station. The refinery is designed to process about 30,000 barrels per day of crude oil and produce traditional petroleum products.
The refinery will provide direct jobs at the facility, and it will open direct and indirect job and business prospects in the region, and this will be reflected in Libya’s overall economy as well as the well-being and development of the region.
