OKB Sukhoi asked Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to shift the deadline for the mandatory transition to Russian software for industry companies in the aviation industry from 2025 to 2027. The corresponding proposal was made by Deputy General Designer of UAC, Director of OKB Sukhoi Mikhail Strelets at the conference “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” ( CIPR).

The transition to domestic software should be helped by the platform of the product life cycle support system, which is produced by the state corporation Rosatom, the director of the Design Bureau specified.

“However, according to the current schedule, the industry version of this platform will be created only in 2027–2028, which does not allow the implementation of the presidential decree on the transition to fully domestic software from January 1, 2025. In this regard, our proposal is to is to consider the possibility of shifting the industry version, starting without waiting for the creation of the basic platform, ”said Mikhail Strelets, chief designer of the Su-57, who represented the UAC at the session, at the CIPR panel session.

According to him, UAC, for its part, is ready to act as the general customer of the solution, as well as actively participate in development testing. “So that this industry version that will be created can pick up the 20 years of developments created in the Team-Center and NX basis system and be acceptable,” he concluded.

Sagittarius also proposed to expand the benefits in terms of deferment from the army and mortgages to IT specialists working in the staff of large companies without an IT profile. But Mikhail Mishustin objected to this proposal that any company has the right to separate its IT divisions into a separate subsidiary legal entity, which will be able to take advantage of the benefits.

According to Strelts, OKB Sukhoi uses digital solutions, which allows the bureau to reduce testing times by 20-30%. At the same time, the Design Bureau actively uses foreign solutions in the preparation of design documentation, while Russian developments, despite their spread, cover no more than 60% of the needs of aircraft designers, Strelets noted.

Since the end of 2020, the government has been discussing the need to switch critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities to domestic software and equipment. The transition dates have been postponed several times. To date, the transition to domestic software is planned until 2024, and to equipment – until 2025.

At the end of March, Russian President Vladimir Putin banned from 2025 the use of foreign software by government agencies and government customers that are part of a critical information infrastructure. The corresponding decree was published on the official information disclosure portal.
