By 2025, sales of smart home devices in Russia will more than double, from $1.2 billion in 2021 to $2.7 billion, the Scientific and Technical Center of the Main Radio Frequency Center (NTC GRCHTS), subordinated to Roskomnadzor, is predicted. The forecast is given in the STC GRCHTS report on the technology market in this segment last year. The study used data from Statista and PwC analysts, said a representative of the GRFC.
The concept of “smart home” is interpreted in research quite broadly – these are automatic control systems used in everyday life. Conventionally, the smart home device market consists of six segments, the report notes. The two largest are control and communication devices (smart speakers, hubs, remotes and sockets) and the segment of smart home appliances, such as refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, etc. Other segments are home security systems (video surveillance, motion sensors, programmable locks, etc.), various home entertainment systems, lighting and comfort segment (smart bulbs, garage door controls, etc.). Experts refer to energy management as the sixth segment.
