The Russian market of SMS-mailings will grow by 20% by the end of 2022, the research agency Telecom Daily predicts. This assessment is confirmed by the interlocutor of Vedomosti in one of the Big Four operators. This market should amount to about 40 billion rubles, according to Finam analyst Leonid Delitsyn, while bank transactions account for 50% of this amount. iKS-Consulting analyst Maxim Savvatin agrees with this assessment.
In 2022, the growth of the SMS mailing market was provided mainly by client notifications of banks, some of which lost the ability to send push notifications, says Telecom Daily analyst Denis Kuskov. The main banks that have increased the use of text messages, according to him, are Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-Bank, Tinkoff. With the fact that the market growth was affected by the forced refusal of banks from push notifications, the source of Vedomosti in the Big Four operator also agrees. In 2021, the market also grew, but the figure was lower – at the level of 12%, adds Kuskov.
