In a speech delivered on behalf of the DGSN during the inauguration ceremony of this school, Mr. Zougari indicated that this new structure, which is in addition to the police schools already opened by the DGSN in Laâyoune, Oujda, Fez and Tangier, tends to strengthen the police training system, provided by the IRP and the schools of Bouknadel and Fouarat, near Kénitra.
He also specified that the inauguration of this new school coincides with preparations for the upcoming opening of the Higher Police Training Center in Ifrane, a project which will constitute a major step in strengthening international and African cooperation in the field of police training.
Mr. Zougari subsequently noted that the DGSN gives priority to the development of police training infrastructures and the modernization of educational programs, adapting them both to the requirements of the security function and to the expectations of citizens, in order to prepare the police officers of tomorrow to effectively serve the Homeland and citizens.
He also emphasized that increasing demand for public security, as well as growing challenges and threats, require strategic investment in human capital, ensuring that knowledge, professional capabilities and a culture of rights are strengthened. of Man, in order to meet the expectations of citizens.
For his part, the director of the Marrakech Peacekeepers Training School, the divisional commissioner, Boughaba Audal, indicated that the inauguration of this structure, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto, is part of the DGSN’s strategy aimed at bringing training schools closer to candidates wishing to join the ranks of national security, while modernizing security infrastructures.
The School is equipped with educational facilities and administrative and health facilities, as well as highly qualified personnel to ensure the training of police officers, who, after obtaining their diplomas, will integrate the external services to carry out their missions of maintaining order and preserving public freedoms, he added in a press statement.
The new training school for peace guards in Marrakech was built on a total area of 7,826 m2, with a capacity to accommodate 500 trainees throughout the basic training period for peace guards.
This new training structure has been designed to provide all the necessary accommodation facilities, teaching and training rooms and external training spaces, so that trainees can complete their training in the best conditions, in the prospect of integrating service and recruitment centers.
In this regard, the School has an accommodation space comprising 16 units, an equipped kitchen, two separate restaurants and a set of health facilities, in addition to an educational pavilion housing a multipurpose room with a capacity of 100 people , 10 classrooms, a computer room and a room for videoconferencing.
This structure is also equipped with a clinic offering first and second level medical consultations, an administrative space with 19 offices, a meeting room, a prayer room, a courtyard for the ceremony of raising the national flag, as well as multiple courses for various paramilitary and sports training.
At the end of the inauguration ceremony of this new structure, in which took part in particular the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, the director of human resources and the director of public security at the DGSN, the police prefect of Marrakech, as well as judicial and military officials, elected officials and heads of external services, a visit was made to the various school facilities.
