“Between oriental style, Tarab, Jazz or others, Mawazine pays tribute to cultural diversity and contributes to highlighting different artistic genres and preserving different musical expressions,” he said, during a press conference before his concert scheduled this evening at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat.

Considered as the ambassador of “Al-Qoudoud Al-Halabiya” (songs of Aleppo) and “Mouwachahat”, the Syrian singer, born in Morocco, made it known that through his songs, he aims to preserve this authentic musical genre which constitutes a heritage legacy and an identity matrix.

“Heritage is our identity, we must preserve it,” insisted Badr Rami, who presents himself as the custodian of a Syrian heritage that is both rich and rooted, but constantly renewed over time without losing its quintessence.

Asked about his interpretation of Moroccan songs, he recalled his title “Koulna Mgharba” released in 2019, in which he sublimated the attachment of all Moroccans to their homeland.

Expressing his great admiration for renowned Moroccan artists, such as Abdelhadi Belkhayat, Abdelouahab Doukkali, Samira Said and the late Mohammed Fouiteh and Mohamed Al Hayani, he stressed that Morocco is full of artistic talents that shine throughout the Arab world and beyond.

The Syrian singer, who also defines himself as a “Moroccan at heart”, wanted to thank His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the high concern with which the Sovereign surrounds art and culture in general.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 19th edition of the Mawazine-Rythmes du Monde Festival (June 21-29) is organized by the Maroc Cultures Association, under the banner of “diversity and celebration”.

An unmissable event for music lovers and enthusiasts in Morocco, this artistic event is considered one of the greatest cultural events in the world, offering a rich and demanding program that mixes the biggest stars of the world and Arab repertoire, making the cities of Rabat and Salé the theater of exceptional meetings between the public and renowned artists.
