As part of the “Liberating your street” operation, the mayor of Álvaro Obregón, Lia Lemon He responded to citizen complaints and, together with the Undersecretary of Control and Traffic, removed abandoned vehicles from streets and avenues in the district.

“In Álvaro Obregón, security is our priority. That is why we constantly carry out various actions on public roads so that everyone feels and lives safer when they walk or circulate through the streets of the municipality,” said Limón.

These vehicles can become a source of infection, they damage the urban image, hinder mobility and become spaces that criminals take advantage of to commit robberies and other crimes.

To date, Lía Limón reported that 5,250 abandoned vehicles have been removed from areas such as Plateros, Santa Fe, Alpes and San Ángel. Likewise, 229 tons of garbage, 258 tons of rubble, 4,147 tires and more than 70 street stalls have been collected.

In the last operation alone, the following have been withdrawn:

  • 111 vehicle tires.
  • 72 stairs.
  • 100 bars.
  • 75 zaguanes.
  • 37 walls and cellars.

For the “Liberando tu calle” operation, 24 officers and 5 cranes from the mayor’s office participate, 7 days a week, to keep roads free of obstacles, improve mobility and provide safer environments.
