The mayor of Óbuda may remain in prison until December

In the criminal case initiated by the Central Prosecutor General’s Office of Investigation for corruption crimes, the prosecutor’s office recommended that the arrest of Mayor László Kiss be extended by three months, until December 16, 2024.

Kiss, as well as his deputy mayor, Gergő Czeglédy, who was detained in June, are suspected of qualified bribery. Of course, the corruption case did not start with them, the threads of the story go back several years.
