The three candidates will be auditioned on May 30, initially.

The authorities of Medef validated Tuesday without surprise the candidacies of Patrick Martin, Dominique Carlac’h and Pierre Brajeux for the presidency of Medef, announced the employers’ organization in a press release. “The Statutory and Ethics Committee of the Mouvement des entreprises de France (Medef) met this Tuesday, May 9 to examine the validity of the candidacies for the presidency of the Mouvement des entreprises de France (…) Three candidacies have been validated“Said the organization chaired since 2018 by Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux.

On Friday, three of the four declared candidates for the presidency had announced that they had exceeded the 150 sponsorships required to apply for the presidency. Only the Ile-de-France entrepreneur Guillaume Cairou failed to gather this support. Apart from sponsorships, the statutes of Medef provide that candidates for the presidency must imperatively be active business leaders, aged under 65 and French tax residents. So many criteria that therefore meet Patrick Martin, current number 2 of the Medef; Dominique Carlac’h, vice-president and spokesperson for the organization; and Pierre Brajeux, Deputy Chairman of the French Security Federation.

The three candidates will be auditioned on May 30 before a final vote scheduled for July 6. The 1,000 delegates making up the electoral assembly represent 60% of the member professional organizations and 40% of the territorial organizations of the Medef.
