Arranged at the end of the garden of the Château de Montbard, in Burgundy, the office resembles an observatory. Dominating a succession of thirteen terraced gardens, it offers a panoramic view of the surroundings. On the walls of this amazing cell are hung hundreds of engravings representing as many varieties of birds and mammals. Through the large windows overlooking the valley, the gaze can wander over the immense domain of the lord of the place: green hillsides and immense forests of pines, plane trees, sycamores and hornbeams.
