The current indoor champion of the country Plamen Milushev and the vice-champion Simon-Antoni Ivanov will argue for the title of the state men’s outdoor tennis tournament. The competition with a total prize fund of BGN 10,000 takes place on the red courts of the “Levski” Sports Complex in Sofia.

The leader in the scheme and indoor finalist Ivanov defeated the qualifier Nikola Keremedchiev in a contested match with 7:6 (7:4), 5:7, 6:4.

In the other semi-final Milushev, ranked third, defeated George Lazarov, ranked number 2, 6:3, 6:2.

At the indoor final at the end of February in Blagoevgrad, Milushev won after a reversal against Ivanov with 3:6, 6:3, 7:6 (7:1) and became the champion for the second time after 2020.

In the women’s race, the country’s champion in 2022 and fifth seed Zinovia Vaneva and third seed and winner of the outdoor trophy for 2009 Hyulia Velieva will compete for the title.

In the semi-finals, Vaneva eliminated the sixth seed Galena Krastenova with 6:2, 6:4, and Velieva achieved success over Daria Velikova with 7:6 (7:2), 6:2.

Hyulia Velieva has already won the doubles title with her sister Lutfia.

The men’s champion and the women’s champion will each earn BGN 1,650, and they will also receive a plane ticket from the BFT to use for travel to participate in a tennis tournament abroad in which they are registered.

Vardan Manukyan and Zinovia Vaneva triumphed in mixed doubles after winning without a game against Alex Genchev and Maya Alexandrova. Aleksandrova was unable to come out for the match due to a viral illness.
