Dehradun: Crucial WhatsApp messages in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, which led to the arrest of BJP leader’s son in Uttarakhand, are out. The messages sent by Ankita to her friend corroborate the allegations against the accused. This proves that the accused forced Ankita into prostitution.
The messages sent to the friend also tell about the hardships experienced while being a receptionist at the resort. In the messages, he was forced to provide ‘special service’ for VVIPs arriving at the resort. It also says that resort owner Pulkit Arya and his associates said that guests who pay more than Rs 10,000 should be served in this way. The police collected screenshots of WhatsApp messages.
The police said that the preliminary investigation confirmed that Ankita was the one who sent the message and for further clarification, forensic examination will be conducted. Ankita also told her friend that a guest touched her badly while working at the resort. Ankita’s message also states that Pulkit Arya said that when she was informed about this, she was drunk. The police have also received the audio message sent to the friend. The audio is of Ankita crying to bring her bag to the top floor of the resort.
The court remanded former minister Vinod Arya’s son Pulkit Arya, resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar and manager Ankit Gupta to judicial custody for 14 days in the case. Vinod Arya and another son Ankit Arya have been expelled from BJP. The body of 19-year-old Ankita, who went missing six days ago, was found in the canal near the power house in Chilla on Saturday. The accused gave a statement to the police that Ankita was drowned and was pushed into the canal near the resort.
After the incident, there was a huge protest. BJP MLA Renu Bishtin’s car was vandalized by the protesters. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the authorities demolished a part of the resort with bulldozers. The locals set fire to the remaining part.
