It has been raining continuously for the last few days in Salem district. Thus increasing the water supply to the aquifers. At this point, the water level of the Salem Mettur Dam reached its full capacity of 120 feet. The entire 22,000 cubic feet of water coming into the Mettur Dam has been released into the Cauvery River. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in at least two places.
