The microcredit program “Women can always” fulfills its objective – El Sol de la Laguna

So far this year alone, a total of 1,234 loans have been granted through the microcredit program “Women can always” operated by the Economic Development Directorate of the Torreón municipal administration.

Currently, under this scheme, 1,766 loans are available for women entrepreneurs immersed in the development of some economic activity and who wish to reinvest and grow their business, informed the head of the agency, Kena Yáñez Martínez.

He indicated that this is possible thanks to the collaboration agreement that remains in force with Banca Afirme, an institution that provides financial resources.

In detail, he explained that until June 15, it has been registered that 533 new loans have been granted and 701 have been renewed, which gives a total placed portfolio of eight million 637 thousand 520 pesos.

The official said that 1,766 credits with a resource of 10,596,000 pesos are still available for those women who wish to enter the program to strengthen their business.

The conditions of these loans are very accessible, in such a way that in groups made up of 12 to 15 women who make payments on time, the term, which is 16 weeks, is reduced to 13.

The groups that comply with their payments in a timely manner and settle the credits in due time and form, become creditors of a new financing with a higher amount.

Yánez Martínez pointed out that the banking institution provides the resources for the loans, in addition to assuming with two percent interest, the operating and administrative expenses, while the Municipality finances three percent, which allows the beneficiaries who pay in a timely manner, obtain an interest-free loan.

Fortunately, the Director highlighted, now the record of compliance by women is 100 percent.
