After a 5-year hiatus, the Historical Museum – Gorna Oryahovitsa will once again organize a Night at the Museum for its visitors on September 14. On Saturday, the Gorno-Oryakhov museum will open with changed working hours – from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., the cultural institution announced. The museum’s partners in the implementation of the event will be the regional branches of the National Society “Tradition” in Veliko Tarnovo and Shumen.
This year’s museum night is entitled “Once upon a time – pictures from medieval life” and through historical reconstructions it will introduce visitors to medieval crafts, cuisine and weaponry. The theme is an interactive continuation of this year’s “Step into the Past” exhibition. Participants will have the opportunity to sample period food and drink, participate in medieval games and entertainment, and have their photos taken dressed in medieval clothing.
For the full presentation of the medieval way of life, there will be several workshops – “Times and manners”, “The taste of time” and “Moments from everyday life”.
During the museum night, visitors will be able to view the museum’s permanent expositions, as well as the newest – “Archaeological excavations in the municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa” and the educational one with VR-glasses “Let’s catch the time”.
Admission for all visitors to Night at the Museum will be free.
