by time news

The Milanesiana, the exhibition conceived and directed by Elisabetta Sgarbi, which yesterday presented the XXII edition, dedicated to the theme of Progress (suggested, as always, by Claudio Magris). Born in Milan, but extended to other locations for some time, the review this year takes off and from 13 June to 6 August will touch 25 cities, with concerts, exhibitions, debates, mostly in presence but also in streaming on corriere.it. And in November it will also be in Paris with a mysterious event for now.

In yesterday’s presentation, May 11th, the interventions highlighted the two characteristics of the exhibition, the fact of being a widespread event and of intertwining the different arts. But also the idea of recovery that accompanies the festival, after the health crisis. After the greetings of the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality Filippo Del Corno and of the Lombardy Region Stefano Bruno Galli, and the intervention of the director of the Piccolo Teatro Claudio Longhi, Piergaetano Marchetti, president of the Corriere Foundation, was reiterate the national dimension of the edition: It has been able to involve local specificities while also continuing its fundamental character that is interdisciplinary. And it has drawn from the pandemic the energy not only to resist, but to strengthen itself. It is now a fundamental appointment in the cultural panorama of the entire country.

How to start again – explained the deputy director of the “Corriere” Venanzio Postiglione – if not with culture? Last year we broadcast a lot of events on corriere.it, and also for this edition the “Corriere” will be there, and the Milanesiana throughout Italy will be able to follow digitally, on corriere.it, which a battleship with 5-6 million daily contacts, up to 12 million in some periods of the pandemic. one of those moments in which it is worth doing our job well. In this prairie that digital, you can go around with the flamethrower, or plant trees, and flowers. As a “Courier” we are busy trying to plant trees; and flowers, starting with the flower of the Milanesiana.

Elisabetta Sgarbi then illustrated the program: We are achieving what I have always wanted: an increasingly open and curious festival, without interruptions, in continuous boiling, which travels, spreads and multiplies.
