Immediately upon receiving the Zawiya oil refinery, the Commander of the West Coast Military Region, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, held a meeting with the refinery officials and operators to discuss “securing the work of the refinery and workers and the role of the military region in protecting the vital facility in accordance with the established security and safety conditions.”
