No one came to the scene of the accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine, as a result of which 51 people died, for an hour and a half, including the rescuers. The evacuation of the miners was first carried out by their colleagues, they rescued four people from the mine shaft, the machinist Sergei Zhulanov told RBC’s special correspondent in the Kemerovo region.
According to another driver, Artyom Simon, he and a colleague were not far from the mine when smoke came from there.
“My partner carried the guy from the first shift on him. We saw the unconscious guy and dragged him up the mountain. Four more people were approaching, with self-rescuers on. They fell to their knees because there was not enough air, ”he said.
The disposable self-rescuer is designed for 300 minutes, while driving – 120 minutes, the driver said. At the same time, according to him, the self-rescuers worked for only 10 minutes.
The accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine occurred at 08:51 local time (04:51 Moscow time), and before 11:00 (07:00 Moscow time), only one mine health worker arrived at the shaft, Simon added. Then the first ambulances arrived, by that moment people were lying unconscious. In addition, firefighters went to the site, but it was “pointless”, since it was impossible to enter the mine.
The bodies of five more victims of an accident at a mine in Kuzbass were raised to the surface, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told TASS on November 27. In total, after the emergency, rescuers raised the bodies of 11 dead, including three mine rescuers.
Smoke at a mine in the Kemerovo Region occurred in the early morning of November 25. According to preliminary data, the explosion of methane was the cause. A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence). The second criminal case was initiated under the article on negligence. The charge was brought against five persons involved in the case: the director of the mine, his first deputy, the head of the section and two inspectors who issued certificates of inspection of the roadway without actually examining it. All the accused have been arrested.
The SDS company, which owns the Listvyazhnaya mine, will pay 2 million rubles each. families of those killed in the accident and buy them housing, said the president of the SDS holding, chairman of the board of directors of SDS-coal Mikhail Fedyaev.
