The minimum hourly rate will be BGN 5.58.
The minimum wage it will become BGN 933 from January 1 2024, the government decided. Its amount will increase by 19.6%, or by BGN 153 compared to its current value. It is determined according to the provisions of the Labor Code, according to which the minimum wage for the country for the next calendar year is set at the rate of 50 percent of the average gross wage for the last two quarters of the previous year and the first two quarters of the current year.
The proposed new amount of the minimum wage will contribute to the reduction of poverty among working people and inequalities in the distribution of income, the press service of the Ministry of Finance announced.
From January 1, 2024 the minimum hourly rate will be BGN 5.58.
