This show jumping competition will be held on September 27-29. In the Alytus district, where the riding base and recreation center “Royal Horse Resort” operated by businessman T. Barščias operates. The general sponsor of the event is the Ministry of Agriculture (ŽŪM).
However, when LRT.lt asked about the event, ŽŪM stated that this year it has established only one prize in the horse competition “Sartai 2024”. At that time, K. Starkevičius explained to the portal that he gave similar awards for the first time when he was in charge of ŽŪM.
“When I worked with agriculture, it was all the time. If with horses, it was always,” the minister said to LRT.lt
According to the minister, he became the patron of the competition when “those who organize” approached him, but not T. Barštys himself. He does not yet know where he will buy the winner’s cup.
LRT reports that T. Barštys denied the question of whether the ŽŪM, which became the general patron of the event, will contribute financially to the show jumping. Also, the businessman did not answer whether, by maintaining such relations with politicians, he does not plan to support the election campaign.
