Dano, November 17, 2023 (AIB) – The Minister of Industrial Development, Trade, Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, and his colleague of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety, Roland Somda, began a visit to the economic units of the South-West region in Dano, this Friday, November 17, 2023.

The two members of the government were welcomed by the high commissioner of the Ioba province, Bernadette Adenyo / Sermé, and the first vice-president of the special municipal delegation of Dano, Aristide Youorikiè Dabiré.

The visit began with the Dreyer Green Industry and Environment Foundation – Sarl (DrIVE) in Dano. The ministerial delegation was able to observe the entire processing chain of paddy rice produced in Burkina.

According to the executive director of the Dreyer Foundation, Laurent Sedogo, the factory operates mainly on renewable energies such as solar.

There, members of the government observed the process of parboiling and husking the rice. More than half of this factory’s production comes from the lowlands developed by the Dreyer Foundation, they learned. Minister Poda congratulated the Dreyer Foundation for the quality of the paddy rice processing work.

The ministerial delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the chief of Dano canton, His Majesty Naonfa 2. Surrounded by his notables, the chief implored the spirits of the ancestors for the success of their mission.

The ministerial procession set off for Dissihn. The ministers and their entourage visited the technical training workshop of the agricultural high school.

In this establishment, students learn the breeding of poultry, pigs and cattle. The visitors encouraged the learners to complete this training, a source of self-employment.

Ministers Serge Gnaniodem Poda and Roland Somda paid a courtesy visit to the head of Dano canton, Naonfa 2.

In Dissihn, the canton chief Kob-Ib 2 received the two ministers for a courtesy visit.

Kob-Ib 2 and his wise advisors formulated blessings for their hosts.

The visit to the economic units will continue on Saturday 18 in the provinces of Bougouriba and Poni. The two members of the government will take advantage of their stay to take part in the ceremony of the South-West regional culture week in Gaoua.
