Questioned on Thursday for more than three hours by the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the failings of sports federations, Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra clearly did not say everything. According to information from Mondethe minister would have recognized some inaccuracies the next day during her long hearing of more than three hours, by sending a corrective letter to the president of the commission of inquiry and the rapporteur.

Salaries, subsidies to the FFT which did not add up

During his hearing, “AOC” affirmed that his remuneration received as general director of the French Tennis Federation (FFT) was justified by the good economic health of the body, adding that it did not receive “not a euro of ‘public money’. “There is no taxpayer money behind [ma] remuneration,” she admitted again on Thursday.

She nevertheless specified in her letter that the FFT “receives subsidies from the National Sports Agency (ANS) which are credits allocated to sports projects, without links to the remuneration of its managers”. This sum would represent “0.2% of the total budget of the FFT”, which is far from the average rate for all federations established at “21%”.

Amélie Oudéa-Castéra also indicated during the hearing that she received a salary “very close” to that of her predecessor Jean-François Vilotte. However, Mediapart revealed that the future minister’s emoluments amounted to 35,600 euros net monthly, or 12,600 euros net more than Mr. Vilotte.
