Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov commented on the sanctions that the Executive Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) imposed on Russia. The main thing that the Russian minister said:

Earlier, the WADA Executive Committee unanimously supported the sanctions against Russia proposed by the WADA Compliance Committee. The sanctions, in particular, prohibit Russian athletes from participating in major international competitions under the Russian flag, and Russian officials and representatives of the Russian government from being members of the governing bodies of sports federations and organizations. Russia will also be revoked (where possible) the previously given right to host major sporting events, and the country will not be able to apply to host the 2032 Olympics. The WADA Executive Committee also stripped RUSADA of compliance status.

Russian athletes and members of their teams will be able to take part in such tournaments only under a neutral flag if they prove that they were not involved in a doping scandal. The rules for their admission will be determined by WADA. Earlier, the chairman of the WADA Compliance Committee, Jonathan Taylor, confirmed that such rules will apply to Russians at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. The decision of the WADA Executive Committee on sanctions against Russia will enter into force 21 days after or after the proceedings in the Court of Arbitration for Sport ( CAS) in Lausanne if Russia decides to challenge it. Russia has not yet confirmed that it will challenge this decision.
