During the visit, the Minister reviewed the work of the Directorate of Weather Forecasts and its affiliated departments, in addition to the Training Center for Weather Monitoring and Forecasts. She reviewed the course currently being held for the employees of the Meteorological Department at the center, and listened to a briefing on the work of the department and observations related to advancing its work and confronting the challenges that stand in the way of its development.
For his part, the Director of the Meteorological Department, Mr. Raed Rafid Al Khattab, explained the role that the department provides in providing services to all official and private institutions in addition to citizens in the field of weather monitoring and forecasting through a management team of experts and specialists in the field of meteorology.
The Minister toured the meteorological facilities and was briefed on the systems used and the weather radar, in addition to the maps for preparing the weather forecast and warnings issued by the administration. She praised the efforts made by the employees of the Meteorological Department and the accuracy of the weather bulletins issued, which contribute to reducing the loss of lives and property.
