The Ministry of Digital Development is working on a bill, according to which the government will determine the list of critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities, as well as the timing of their transition to domestic solutions. This was told to Vedomosti by a source in the government and confirmed by an interlocutor in an IT company familiar with the discussion of the bill. According to them, the bill has already been agreed with the parties concerned and will soon be submitted to the State Duma.
On March 20, 2022, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which government agencies and state-owned companies are prohibited from using foreign software (software) at critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities from January 1, 2025.
