For the remaining 2,500 approved applications, the half-year period has not yet passed, after which the applicant will be recognized as released from debt obligations, Torosov explained. The press service of the ministry did not specify the main reason for the refusal of 7,000 applications. “The new institution of bankruptcy has taken place. The mechanism is developing at a normal pace. It can be seen that there is no jump in defaults among individuals due to the pandemic, ”Torosov said.

Now experts are improving the procedure for out-of-court bankruptcy: soon the application can be submitted through the portal of state services. In such a bill, it is proposed to raise the threshold for the amount of debt to 1 million rubles. The main obligation, for example on a loan, according to Torosov, will remain in the amount of 50,000-500,000 rubles, the rest – tax debt.
