The Ministry of Economic Development and the Government of the Komi Republic are working on the possibility of creating a special economic zone (SEZ) “North” in the region, the press service of the department reports.

“We support the initiative of the region, the ministry is ready to promptly consider an application for the creation of a SEZ and, if necessary, provide the region with methodological, consulting and information support in preparing the necessary documents and materials,” said the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov during his visit to Komi.

The area of the proposed special economic zone of industrial-production type on the territory of Komi will be about 800 hectares.

“All industrial enterprises in our country consume oxygen in one way or another, that is, the pandemic will go away, but the need for oxygen will still remain. In Ukhta and Usinsk there are small enterprises for the production of technical oxygen for their own needs, but closer to the south they are absent at all, ”said Vladimir Uyba, head of the Komi Republic.
