The Ministry of Economics lists the risks of uncontrolled growth of ecosystems

by time news

The rapid growth of ecosystems creates three key risks from which it is necessary to additionally protect the interests of users. Deputy Minister of Economic Development Vladislav Fedulov spoke about this in an interview with Vedomosti.

The first risk, he said, is labor relations within large ecosystems. “The simplest example is the terms of contracts between the aggregator and taxi drivers. In fact, the driver is not registered in the state, he has all the responsibility, while he pays a commission for entering the platform, not to mention taxes, ”he explained. In his opinion, in a number of cases there are obvious imbalances.

The second risk, according to Fedulov, is data security. Minek is interested in two aspects of this problem – protection against leaks and uncontrolled data trading.

The third is the censoring of statements, the deputy minister continued. The ecosystem can block or moderate any publications, in fact, at its own discretion, Fedulov believes. ” “It takes two seconds to block you on a social network and fit a theoretical basis, a kind of editorial policy.” Ecosystems can actually shape public opinion. It is unlikely that the population is interested in business becoming a political regulator, he summed up.

In addition to the Ministry of Economic Development, the Bank of Russia pays special attention to the growth of ecosystems. The regulator is worried about investments of financial ecosystems, the core of which are banks, in non-core risky assets. Therefore, for banks building or entering ecosystems, the Bank of Russia is going to introduce a risk-sensitive limit at the level of 30%. Banks are also planned to be obliged to disclose all information on investments in non-core assets, and will also more closely monitor information security and financing of ecosystem participants.
