The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed that the start date of the 2024-2025 academic year will be on September 17, after the end of the Prophet’s Birthday and Martyr’s Day holidays.
The ministry explained in a statement that it is continuing preparations to prepare educational institutions to receive more than two million and 300 thousand students in their educational institutions, in the new academic year, which it described as the year of “quality and excellence.”
The Ministry appreciated the efforts of educational and teaching staff throughout the country to prepare for the school year without it being affected by the postponement of studies from their scheduled date, as a result of a number of educational institutions entering into light and comprehensive maintenance work.
The Ministry also renewed the discretionary authority granted to education supervisors in municipalities affected by weather fluctuations to postpone the start of school until educational institutions are ready and evacuated of displaced persons and any teams working during the crisis.
The ministry called for coordination with municipal councils and the authorities occupying educational institutions in order to prepare them to receive pupils and students, according to the statement.
