The Ministry of Education announced today, Tuesday, the inclusion of moral education in the curricula of the first primary and middle school.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Education, Karim Al-Sayed, said in a statement received by the (INA): “The Ministry announces the inclusion of the subject of moral education in the curricula for the first grade of primary school and the first grade of middle school for the first time in Iraq, with the aim of building and raising an aware generation that adheres to authentic religious and social values ​​and principles, far from fanaticism and discrimination, in a manner consistent with the provisions of the Iraqi Constitution.”
Mr. Al-Sayed added that “this step came after an in-depth study of the reality and the extent of the student’s need for learning to achieve creative integration, where a number of professors and specialists in the General Directorate of Curricula met in cooperation with international organizations and relevant educational and scientific bodies to write this enriching book that aims to consolidate the students’ value and behavioral aspects in parallel with the scientific aspects,” noting that “this initial approach will be followed by subsequent steps to expand the scope of the subject to reach the other stages gradually.”
