The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan urges citizens to get vaccinated against measles infection.

As Day.Az reported on Thursday with reference to the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, since April last year, measles infections associated with cases of importation from other countries have caused a local spread of infection in various regions of Azerbaijan. An analysis of the current epidemiological situation shows that the vast majority of those infected are people who have never been vaccinated against measles and have not recovered from this disease.

“In this regard, anti-epidemic and preventive measures continue on the territory of Azerbaijan. Thus, in accordance with the schedule of preventive vaccinations approved by the Ministry of Health, children under 10 years of age are being vaccinated in the country.

Considering that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent measles infection, the Ministry of Health once again appeals to the population and calls on measles-sensitive population groups aged 11-40 years to be vaccinated against this infection.

For vaccination, you can contact medical institutions that provide outpatient care to children and the elderly at their place of residence,” the department said in a statement.
