On April 20, 2022, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health (MOPH) presided over the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the elimination of hepatitis between Dr. Kiatpoom Wong. Mr. Anutin revealed that the MoPH has given importance to eliminating hepatitis from Thailand. The goal is to achieve this by 2030, which requires the participation of relevant sectors in driving quality and equitable health promotion and disease prevention. Dr. Kiatpoom said that at present, there are 2.2 million people in Thailand who are chronically infected with hepatitis B and 800,000 people are infected with hepatitis C. Hepatitis, cirrhosis, and subsequent liver cancer and is a major cause of illness and death
