From the National Welfare Fund (NWF) for the construction of a high-speed highway Moscow – St. Petersburg will need to allocate up to 468 billion rubles, said Director of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Transport Daria Kiseleva.

“The Moscow – St. Petersburg high-speed railway project – the total cost of 1 trillion 390 billion rubles. Three sections are provided here, respectively, subject to the possibility of exploiting each section separately. It will be necessary to allocate funds from the NWF in the amount of up to 468 billion rubles,” Kiseleva said at a round table in the Federation Council on raising funds for the development of transport infrastructure.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that the construction of the high-speed railroad was not canceled, but divided into stages. He explained that resources are now concentrated on the construction of a railway at the Eastern range. “To be on the safe side, we concentrated on the Eastern Range. When we have financial and organizational capabilities, we will return to the High-Speed ​​Line,” explained Khusnullin.
