The Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema is organizing a competition for memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran in Benin

The competition was launched by the Moroccan ambassador in Cotonou, Rachid Rguibi, in the presence of the president of the section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Benin, Tani Abderrahim Chit, and members of the section.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Rguibi highlighted the role played by the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema in the dissemination of the noble values ​​of Islam and the preservation of common religious constants between Morocco and the rest of African countries, in addition to the contribution to the exchange of experiences and the coordination of efforts between African Ulema.

Emphasizing the excellent relations existing between His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and the President of the Republic of Benin, Patrice Talon, the Moroccan diplomat recalled that in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Cotonou accompanies and supports all activities and competitions organized by the section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema in Benin.

For his part, Mr. Abderrahim Chit praised the efforts made by the Moroccan Embassy in Benin to support the activities of the section and its openness to all the initiatives and proposals it presents in order to serve the objectives set by the Foundation in accordance with the Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine.

In his speech, the president of the Benin section of the Foundation also highlighted the importance of organizing this competition which, he said, demonstrates the interest that His Majesty the King has in the Holy Quran and scientific research.

It is worth noting that the Foundation’s section conducted pre-selections in several cities and regions of Benin to select the candidates who participated in the final stage organized on Saturday in three categories of the competition, namely: memorization of the entire Holy Quran with recitation according to the Warch an Nafiâ reading, memorization of the entire Holy Quran with recitation according to the Hafs reading, and psalmody (Tajwid) with memorization of at least five Hizbs of the Holy Quran.
