The Israeli army announced that it has ended its major month-long military operation in the cities of Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah in southern Gaza. From there, they added that over 250 radicals were killed during it, DPA reported.

During the operation, tunnels used by the Palestinian movement “Hamas” with a total length of 6 km were destroyed, and the bodies of six prisoners were also discovered, the army said.

Residents of some neighborhoods in southern Gaza who were told to flee may return to their homes, a military spokesman added.

These neighborhoods are again part of an area designated as a safe humanitarian zone, that is, one where hostilities do not take place. Some of those who returned to Khan Yunis started looking for their relatives who are missing, the Israeli army said, BTA reports.

According to the Hamas-controlled health authorities, over 98,000 Palestinians have been killed and wounded in the ten months since the start of the war in Gaza.

The conflict erupted after the largest massacre in Israeli history, with more than 1,200 dead, carried out by fighters from Hamas and other Palestinian extremist groups on October 7.
