We all have the experience of traveling on dangerous roads that can only be navigated by expert drivers. While there are roads all over the world that take narrow curves at high altitudes, there are some roads that are so dangerous that they make drivers think twice before embarking on the journey.
There are many roads in the list of ‘world’s most dangerous road’. Among them, the 1,300 km long Karakoram NH-35 highway connecting China to Pakistan is said to be the most dangerous, according to survey experts. The road connects the Pakistani provinces of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan with China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
Although the highway is a popular tourist attraction, it is one of the highest and most dangerous roads in the world, passing through the Karakoram mountain range at an altitude of 15,466 feet. Opened for public use in 1978, the highway is said to be prone to accidents due to its high altitude and harsh weather conditions.
